Use your free library card to check out a museum pass at 407 libraries across the state!

MACON, GA… Three Macon museums – the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Museum of Arts and Sciences, and Tubman Museum – are partnering with the Georgia Public Library service on a statewide pass program. The Macon Museum Pass is a library loan program consisting of a pass that can be checked out just like any other library item. When taken to any of the three Macon museums, it is good for four free general admissions. All 407 public libraries in Georgia will receive the pass.

“For more than 60 years, the Museum of Arts and Sciences has strengthened Central Georgia’s cultural landscape, serving an estimated 80,000 each year through innovative arts-infused science programming,” said Executive Director Susan Welsh. “Only through dynamic partnerships like this one are we able to offer high quality educational programming at the lowest possible cost to the widest audience. We’re excited about this opportunity to welcome even more visitors to Macon!”

By using the pass, library patrons will have access to a rich history of cultural, scientific, artistic and athletic achievement through exhibits featuring rare artifacts and pieces of art and quality, educational programming.

Libraries also will have access exhibits curated and developed by the Tubman Museum, as well as a banner exhibit highlighting the three museums and other Macon-Bibb attractions, on generous loan from Visit Macon.

This program is sponsored in part by a grant to the Georgia Public Library Service from the U.S Institute of Museum and Library Services under the Library Services Technology Act. imls.gov

GPLS would like to thank the Middle Georgia Regional Library System for their expertise in facilitating this new partnership.
