Atlanta, GA — September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and Georgia Public Library Service, along with libraries throughout Georgia and the country, encourage everyone to discover the valuable resources available with a free public library card.

With your library card, you can learn new job skills, attend a book club, go to story time with your kids, research your next school project, learn a language, explore your family history, get free admission to great places across Georgia, and much more.

“With a library card, Georgians of all ages can find ways to achieve educational goals and meet their unique needs at every stage of their lives. Our public libraries continue to adapt and transform their spaces to better serve communities to support literacy and lifelong learning,” said Julie Walker, state librarian and vice chancellor for Libraries and Archives.

More Georgians than ever are realizing the value of a library card; our state’s public libraries saw a 10% increase in card signups during 2023.
