Alert for GLASS customers: digital magazine cartridges

We are excited to announce that in early June, the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped will begin sending magazines and Talking Book Topics on DIGITAL CARTRIDGE instead of audio cassette. This transition will include a few changes for you.

You must have a digital player to listen to the magazines or Talking Book Topics. If you do not have one, please contact us as soon as possible.

The digital magazine cartridge will contain all of your selected magazines and/or Talking Book Topics. This cartridge will instruct you on navigating between the different magazines.

Unlike the magazines on audio cassettes, the digital cartridges MUST BE RETURNED!  DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY! You must RETURN the digital cartridge in its case, just like the regular digital Talking Books.

The magazine/Talking Book Topics cartridge must be returned within approximately 30 days, or no more will be sent until the overdue cartridge is returned. The best advice is to return a cartridge as soon as you have finished reading it.

These digital magazine cartridges will be a light blue color and arrive in a dark red case.

We hope that you will enjoy your digital magazines!

Please contact local Talking Book Center or 800-248-6701 if you have any questions or concerns.
